New Pictures

We finally, finally got the backsplash tiled and I took some new photos for y'all of the backsplash ... and the newest member of the Beitler family, our new fridge! Woo-hoo!!! You'll notice none of the photos are of the island- that's because that's where I stashed all of the stuff that was on the coutertops. We are still in a bit of a remodeling mess here, but by next week, our contractor will be all done with this portion of the house and will start on the addition- yay!!!! We still have to do some small things in the kitchen, like paint (ok, not so small :)), curtains and cover the electrical outlets... but we are getting so close!

He did it!

Our contractor actually got us in on time!!!! Honestly, it was a miracle. Of course, we had no shower (thankfully my mom and dad were in town so we showered at their hotel), but we didn't have to find a different place to stay! My mom and dad came to town to help us move out of the little rental we were in and then they kicked butt for three days straight helping us get settled into the new place. There's still a ton of work that needs to be done, but I honestly don't think we could have done it without them!

Here are just a few preview pictures of the finished result. There is still a lot of detail work to do (like tile on the island and trim... and paint.... oh my), but at least we don't have the time crunch :). Sorry for the poor quality of the photos... I guess I still haven't mastered the art of taking great pictures with the iPhone yet :).

Joe and Connie came to town about a week before we moved in and Connie planted us our first garden! We have soooooo many veggies growing! So far, we've been able to eat strawberries and this amazing plate of mixed greens! They tasted better than anything I've ever bought! And they are just potted in pots, so it doesn't take a lot of effort to grow them!

Five Days To Go!

Scheduled move-in date: Friday, May 15. Pictures taken Sunday, May 10. Is anyone worried? Ummmm...... naaaahhhhhhh. Ok, maybe a little. Here are some pics. The house is changing daily, so I'll try to update every night.... cabinets are going in as I type!

Week 2: Hole-y Moly!

Oh boy, this is the phase of the remodeling where you really hope you hired people that know what they're doing! I tried to take as many pictures as I could, but to be honest, I had a minor panic attack the day we were there.... so much work to be done!!! So I'm not sure if I took a great set of photos or not. Without further ado.... here are the new pictures :).

New bathroom.... what you are looking at are channels that we had to cut out of the concrete slab foundation for the pipes. I drove by the house while the contractor was doing this and saw so much dust flying out of the house, that I kept on driving!!! That hole in the upper right hand corner will be the toilet and the sink will be to the right- the shower is to the left.

This will eventually be the shower.

The laundry room. Ok, the stackable washer/dryer in the bathroom :). This is probably one of the only things that is actually staying the same.

The contractor is hoping for sheetrock by Friday! If so, I'll have a new sets of pictures, but I'm not 100% sure it's going to happen :).
